The Role of Music in Academic & Personal Growth
Originally from Uganda, Matt arrived in the U.S. in 2019 and found his passion for both music and academics at PBA. After graduating from our Day School, Matt continued to sing in our After School choirs while he attended Head Royce High School and maintained a 3.93 GPA.
Matt ultimately chose to attend UC Berkeley, his father’s alma mater, where he’ll be studying and singing this Fall.
Why Small Learning Environments & Choirs Make a Difference
Matt’s success underscores the value of small-cohort learning at PBA’s Day School, where students receive individualized attention that deepens their engagement with both academics and music.
Emphasizing music education offers much more than vocal training, it helps students develop lifelong skills that prepare them for success!
Congratulations to Matt and his family!
