Aladdin Star Sonya Balsara Visits PBA
We were thrilled to host Broadway’s Sonya Balsara for a Tuesday afternoon visit to Pacific Boychoir Academy!
Since 2023, Sonya has played the role of Princess Jasmine in Disney’s production of Aladdin on Broadway in New York City.

Sonya answered choristers’ questions about the life of a Broadway actress, her daily routine and ways she keeps her voice in prime condition.
A Secret to Success
Sonya was picked for the role of Jasmine after she filled in briefly for another actress. “I showed up on time, every day, with a positive attitude and ready to work,” Sonya told choristers. “It makes an impression on people and really matters — because you never know where your next opportunity is going to come from!”
